Caution should be taken when adminstering to exotic cats with low body fat, as very occasionally hyperactivity has been induced. Bottles have glass pipette dropper for easy administration but which require care in use to avoid breakage or injury.

Formulated to naturally help pets relax quickly in times of stress or anxiety

Calm your stressed, hyperactive or frightened pet quickly with our fast-acting Valerian Compound for dogs and cats. Containing pure extracts of three herbs in liquid form, it acts within just 30 minutes, with effects lasting for up to two hours. It can be dropped straight into the mouth, given on food or sprinkled onto your pet's bedding to help make any event instantly less stressful. It's non-drowsy and even our fussy feline friends love the smell, making it super easy to use.

Frightened, anxious, hyperactive and stressed animals can be calmed quickly using this easy to give liquid. Dropped into the mouth, given on food or even just a few drops sprinkled on a pet's bedding can result in a more amenable pet, so visits to the vet, travelling or moving house instantly become less stressful situations. Cats particularly love the smell of Valerian Compound, so administration really couldn't be simpler.

How does Valerian Compound work?

Valerian helps to support the natural relaxant pathways within the nervous system, without affecting muscles. It doesn't make pets dopey or sleepy - in fact it is widely used for agility and show dogs when they need to be alert and focussed, but calm.

The concentrated herbal extracts used in this liquid ensure that within just 30 minutes a noticeable change in behaviour occurs without causing drowsiness and the effects are quite short lived. In situations that have a longer duration then we recommend also giving Scullcap and Valerian Tablets.

When faced with unexpected events like thunderstorms, Valerian Compound has a fast action and it can also be used in conjunction with Scullcap and Valerian Tablets in especially fearful situations and for anxious animals.

What can Valerian Compound be used for?

Phobias and nervous disorders can be really hard to deal with - both for pets and from their owners' perspectives. Widely used as a treatment for noise phobias and fears associated with fireworks, thunder and gunfire, as well as for general excitability and hyperactivity, this herbal medicine is one of our best sellers. Popular for use in travel-related anxiety and also for territorial urine spraying in cats. Buy your supply of Scullcap and Valerian Tablets well in advance of fireworks night (there's often huge demand around this time).

Many situations can be worrying for our pets causing fear and anxiety. Valerian Compound can be used for:

  • fireworks
  • thunderstorms
  • travelling
  • showing
  • going into kennels
  • visiting the vets.

Valerian Compound acts quickly, helping you and your pet get through these events stress-free. It can also be used to restore calm in hyperactive pets.

Top-Tip: Try putting a few drops on a cloth on your pet's bed to help them relax, cats especially love this.

Will it sedate my dog?

They are not sedatives, in fact these are widely used for performance dogs such as agility and show dogs when they need to be alert and focussed. The herbs are nervines, that means they help to naturally relax the nervous system which reduces anxiety yet does not sedate muscles.

Can I use the tablets and liquid together?

Scullcap & Valerian used daily provides better coverage and is ideal to start using in the lead up to Fireworks Night so they are already nice and relaxed before the scary noises start.

Valerian Compound is quicker-acting and is perfect to use orally as a top-up and for unpredicted events such as a neighbours having a fireworks display or a thunder storm. It is ideal to put a few drops on a cloth on their bed to help them relax, cats love this especially.

When do I need to start giving the products?

The more severe the phobia, the earlier you should start, up to a month in some cases. For moderate phobias, start around 10 days before the predicted worst night. However, even if you only start the day or so before your dog will still benefit.

What dosage/administration should I use?

Valerian Compound the administration is 1/4 tsp for small dogs and cats, 1/2 tsp for medium dogs, 1tsp for large dogs and 1.5tsp for Giant breeds. May be given as required, it is not recommended that more than two administrations of the stated amount are given in a 24 hours period.

Are they suitable for use during pregnancy/lactation?

Valerian Compound is not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation - if you are unsure please contact our advice line for further information.

Are there any interactions?

Valerian Compound may be given in conjunction with medicines - if you are unsure please contact our advice line for further information.

Great Product

I’ve been using Valerian Compound for my dog when travelling. She is so much calmer so it is definitely working.
Easy to order and very quick delivery.

Drops are a brilliant short term solution

Items were easy to order and as promised arrived the next day. My anxious dog is noticeably less anxious after the Valerian Compound drops have been administered and hopefully the Scullcap & Valerian Tablets will help tackle the ongoing anxiety for her to have more positive interactions with life.
Will be ordering again soon and recommend anyone to give these items a try for their dog.

Great for separation anxiety

The Valerian Compound has worked wonders with my dog who suffers with separation anxiety. I use the Valerian Compound and Scullcap & Valerian Tablets alongside separation anxiety training, with my dog behaviourist and my boy is now up to a comfortable 3 hours being home alone. When he first removed him, we couldnt go 30 seconds out the door without him barking, howling and scratching the door. They have worked hand in hand with training and take the edge off the days when we can't take him out with us. I highly recommend this product.

Valerian Compound for cat

Thought I would try this instead of a plug in, due to looming thunder storms my cat started spraying, yowling and literally pacing around the house, I put a few drops in his food I was amazed it worked instantly everything stopped, I've continued to put a few drops in his food morning and night to keep him chilled out, I would recommend trying this product.
