National baking week takes place every October, from 14th - 20th with the aim to encourage people to get baking! We absolutely love baking here at Dorwest HQ and are constantly bringing in all kinds of bakes, to treat not only our two-legged team members but also four!
Our powder range are ideal for adding that little extra something to your homemade dog treats and we have a great recipe, including our Keeper's Mix. This is the perfect all-rounder, formulated with 8 herbs each supporting vital organs, skin and joints, as well as encouraging a thick and healthy coat. These homemade dog treats with carrot, apple dog and Keeper's Mix make the perfect, healthy snack for your dog!
To start, you'll need:
- 1 Grated carrot
- 1 Grated apple
- 1 Egg
- 150g Plain flour (this can be swapped for a gluten free alternative!)
- A sprinkle of Keeper’s Mix on each biscuit or add 2 scoops into the dough
It's as easy as adding all the ingredients into a bowl (we would recommend squeezing some of the water out of the carrot and apple with a paper towel before adding into the mixing bowl).
Now, it's time to get your hands stuck in and mix until fully combined together to make a dough.
Place into your moulds or roll into small balls and sprinkle some Keeper's Mix over the top
Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Leave them to cool and serve to your four-legged friends 🐶🐱
