As part of our steps to 'Going Greener' we strive to be as environmentally conscious as possible in the sourcing, packaging and delivery of our products. To ensure quality whilst doing everything possible to use eco-friendly materials and processes.
Quality is key in everything we do. From working with growers, ensuring only the best ingredients are used, to personally overseeing the manufacturing process. It's all part of what we do to give your pet the best.
A great deal of expertise goes into making our herbal supplements. The herbs we use are grown to specific requirements or collected from wild, sustainable sources, each harvested in exactly the right conditions at the right time.
Where possible, all ingredients are fully traceable and are pharmaceutical grade, and it’s an absolute no to using GM crops or unethical animal testing. We strive to use the most sustainable and ethical sources we can find, and believe that positive supplier relationships provide the best quality ingredients to help deliver the best quality products.
Reduce, reuse, recycle!
To make sure that we are doing all that we can to reduce our environmental impact, we’re constantly making changes across the business. Thanks to our amazing Dispatch Manager Ashley, we are over the moon to be say Dorwest are 100% plastic free in our dispatch materials! So when you receive your Dorwest order, you can be rest assured that the packaging used is bio-degradable or can be put straight into your recycling bin..
We only use:
- Bio-degradable shrink wrap and reduced usage.
- Bio-degradable bubble wrap.
- 100% plastic free mailing bags.
- Reused cardboard boxes are used to send orders and any cardboard waste is shredded with the new machinery to be used for lining boxes and protecting products during transit.
- Eco-paper or water gummed packing tape.
- Loose-fill packaging made from corn starch rather than polystyrene (super cool stuff and it dissolves in water!)
In spring 2023, we introduced our NEW Shampoo Bars with 100% plastic free and fully recyclable packaging. Making them great for your pet and the planet too!
Currently, our plastic tubs for our herbal supplements are made of HDPE and so are fully recyclable. Many of our customers however, have shown us great ways these tubs can be reused too, from stationary holders to planters.
Looking into the future of our 'Going Greener' pledge, we are excited to say we are exploring bio-based plastic containers for all tablets by the end of the year!

It’s the small things can make a huge difference! Which is why we strive in all areas of the business to eradicate single use plastic…
- Instead of using plastic milk bottles, we now have our milk delivered in glass bottles by a local company.
- We don’t use plastic or paper cups in the office or staff rooms. Instead, we provide mugs and glasses which can be washed and re-used. Even all the soap dispensers throughout Dorwest are refillable.
- We are even making our office paper free and transitioning to be fully digital!
